Two conservative commentators, Peggy Noonan and former McCain strategist Mike Murphy, caught trashing vice-presidential pick Sarah Palin earlier this week as they speak candidly about the pick, assuming they are no longer on the air.
Peggy Noonan, who praised the pick in a column the same morning, can be heard saying, "It's over... I think they went for this, excuse me, political bulls--t about narratives."
"Every time Republicans do this, because that's not where they live, and that's not what they're good at, they blow it."
Speaking of Sarah Palin, her speech to accept the Republican nomination for vice president, nearly matched the record audience for Barack Obama's speech, topping 37 million U.S. viewers. She easily surpassed the numbers for Democratic vice presidential nominee Joe Biden, who averaged 24 million viewers with his acceptance speech last Wednesday.
