Taking the lead from Radiohead, Michael Moore has announced he will be releasing his new documentary online -- for free.
The film titled 'Slacker Uprising' will follow Moore's 62-city tour during the 2004 US presidential election, as he tries to convince young non-voters to make a difference.
"This is being done entirely as a gift to my fans," Moore said in a statement. "The only return any of us are hoping for is the largest turnout of young voters ever at the polls in November."
The 97-minute long 'Slacker Uprising' will be the first notable film to be released online and cynics will say this is because Moore didn't believe the movie was deserving of a theatrical release.
However, if history is any indication, Moore's documentary still could have made a decent sum. His last two films, 'Sicko' and 'Fahrenheit 9/11' earned over $143 million and are two of the three highest-grossing documentaries ever.
The documentary will be available as a free download for three weeks beginning September 23.
