Dr. Phil at WAL MART?
So get this!!
I never watch Dr Phil.. EVER. But on Monday I accidentelly taped it in an attempt to tape 'The Guiding Light'. So I decided I might as well watch it since I taped it, (plus I think we're the only people on the planet who don't use DVR and still 'tape' shows). Anyway.. I'm not sure if anyone saw this episode but as i'm watching it, I learn that the story is about a custody battle that involves a mom, dad, and their 2 kids, (an 8 and a 6 year old). The kid's grandma, (the mom's mom) was also there. So as the story progresses I began to see how much of a jerk the dad is. I felt so bad for the mom and grandma because the grandma was crying and trying to defend herself while mean Dr. Phil was being a huge idiot to her; it was very unfair.
HERE IS WHERE IT GETS GOOD!!
So last night I went to Wal-Mart and I see this lady who looks familliar. All of the sudden I'm like OH MY GOSH THATS THE GRANDMA I SAW ON DR. PHIL THE OTHER DAY! I thought to myself, "Oh my goodness I really want to tell her that I support and agree with her 100%". So of course I just casually walk up to her and seriously, this lady is so cute. She was wearing an "I love Grandma" shirt and picking out Hannah Montana clothes for her grand daughter. So I tap her on the shoulder and I'm like, "Excuse me but were you on Dr Ph.." and immediately she replies "Yes!!" and I go, "I just wanted to let you know that I agree with you and I thought you did an amazing job" and as soon as I said that.. she just burst into tears. Right in the middle of Wal-Mart. Then she gave me a hug and I actually started tearing up because she told me how much that meant to her. She told me that no one believes her when her and her daughter say the dad is a creep and that everyone calls her crazy and is bashing her on the Dr. Phil message boards. So I told her I'd go on there and post a message in her defense. She started crying more and told me I made her week. This woman really made me realize just how much I love putting a smile on people's faces, even if it is just for 10 minutes. Grandma Janet is an amazing person to stand up for her family like that and I really did post on the message board in her defense!!
In case you missed it and would like to see.. here is the story:
