LeAnn Rimes opens up about her Psoriasis
You just never know what private battles stars are facing - until they decide to speak up.
Today LeAnn Rimes (seen here with husband Dean Sheremet at an event in July) is helping launch a nationwide campaign called Stop Hiding from Psoriasis, the painful, chronic immune disorder that affects the skin. Rimes, 26, who is working with the American Academy of Dermatology and National Psoriasis Foundation, knows first-hand the physical and emotional pain of psoriasis, which she talks about in a video at Stophiding.org.
“Having battled severe psoriasis my whole life, I have gone to great lengths to hide my condition, especially as a performer," she says in a release. "Over the years, I’ve had to deal with the emotional and physical toll psoriasis has had on my self-esteem and confidence, but today I no longer let Psoriasis define who I am or how I feel about myself."
