Archuleta won't talk about romances

American Idol runner-up David Archuleta is terrified of discussing his love life in the media after his female friend received hate mail.

The singer recently invited his gal pal to watch him at a concert, and was stunned after his companion was bombarded with hateful messages from jealous fans who spotted her in the audience.

And the 17-year-old insists the experience has left him wary of talking about his personal life to the press.

He says, "I'm just afraid to mention anything now. They said (to her), 'You're not good enough for him, and you're ugly.'

"I can see why people (celebrities) want to keep things to themselves."

that is TOTALLY understandable.
some fans are just plain rude.
that would be like sending hate mail to Chace while him and carrie were "datting"
thats not fair for david, and DEINATLY NOT fair to his friend.
NOONE should send hate mail.
no matter if you like them together or not.
but COME ON.
this girl has feelings.
i bet that just broke her down to have people saying things like that.
and now David not being able to tlak about it is normal.
i wish some fans would let thsese type of things go.
come on.

omg I cant believe how stupid ppl are.

also its not fair to the NICE fans who actually care about david and the personal things we could be thankful for that he tells us. ugghh the bad ones always have to ruin it for everyone else.
