Wow, I hope this is right.
Very cool.
The song is somewhat of a backhand, but I am thrilled they are using Carrie.
I know we have all hoped for this. So I am so happy.
David Cook Loses Out To Another 'Idol' - POPWRAP | Gossip | Entertainment | NewsDavid Cook Loses Out To Another 'Idol'
While David Cook was able to easily stop David Archuleta from becoming last year's "American Idol," the 26-year-old wasn't able to fend off the aspirational attacks of another singer: Carrie Underwood. While the reigning champ was tipped to provide this year's elimination song -- like "Home" by Daughtry or "Bad Day" by Daniel Powter -- Carrie swooped in and snagged the gig with a cover of Motley Crue's "Home Sweet Home."
I love the song and think it will make for an apt goodbye. To ensure there are no hard feelings, Carrie will donate a portion of the proceeds to the Humane Society. "I've always loved this song and besides being very fitting for 'Idol,' to me, the title is also very fitting with animal rescue and finding animals their own homes," Carrie said.
So listen to a snippet of the song after the jump, which will make its debut on Wednesday's elimination show when Jasmine Murray is sent packing -- just guessing!
Wow, I hope this is right.
Very cool.

Carrie has such a lovely and angelic heart!!!
I like both of the American Idol winners, but Carrie is my favorite
not sure how true it is that david cook was supposed to provide the elimination song, but oh well.
i wouldn't be surprised by how much carrie was behind initiating the idea. she has some relationship with motley crue, and must be behind linking up with the Humane Society - i'm pretty impressed by the whole concept. everyone wins - motley crue gets their song heard on AI, Humane Society gets donations, AI gets a fitting song and also showcasing a previous Idol Winner and of course carrie fans get a new song!!
I wonder if this is true. I am glad that Carrie was the one chosen & I love her take on the song!
Just bought the song and its awesome of course - another winner!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is no better way to get hits on a site then to try and turn fanbases against each other! I would say theres not a grain of truth to this story! Carrie is doing it because its been overdue for idol to let her do something like this. She has stayed very loyal to the show even though in some peoples eyes she will never be legit because of Idol!! Of couse the charity being the Humane Society is about Carrie giving back something she does alot behind the scenes out of the spotlight!! Im glad everyone gets to see not only how great she does rock songs but how big her Heart is also!!

That's great that Carrie gets a chance of do it for idol because i been one of fans who wanted Carrie to something like this on idol results shows and now we get to hear Carrie singing the good-bye song and another note i wish i could download/buy it from itunes but i can't because i don't have the money to do it...
And another note;;; HAPPY 26th B-day Carrie Underwood![]()
I personally love both Cookie & Carrie<3
Love me or hate me..promise it won't make or break me =]]]]
this statement makes it seems that there was this competition between David and Carrie, and to appease him, she will donate the proceeds to the humane society. i think its garbage the way the blog wrote about this.To ensure there are no hard feelings, Carrie will donate a portion of the proceeds to the Humane Society.
was it ever a given David would provide the elimination song? and im sure carrie decided to donate the proceedings not because she hurt David's feelings.
May you always have
enough happiness to keep you sweet;
enough trials to keep you strong;
enough success to keep you eager;
enough faith to give you courage;
and enough determination to make each day a good day!"
CONGRATS CARRIE AND MIKE!!!
Carrie's version is amazing so maybe David will get his chance next year!
