Instrumental Renditions for Babies of Top Country Songs
Made Famous By Its Biggest Artists Then and Now Hit the Market in March

(Los Angeles) Country music loving parents can now share their favorite stars and songs with their little cradle cowboys and cowgirls. Hushabye Baby: Lullaby Renditions of Country Music Favorites, an innovative new series of CDs, transforms some of country's best-known and most beloved songs into sweet, soothing instrumental lullabies that ease infants off to dreamland with music that Mom and Dad also enjoy. When it's naptime or bedtime for newborns and infants, parents can hum or softly sing along to the songs they already cherish. Adults will like the authentic country sound of the instrumental versions created by noted producers and musicians and the songs that are made into lullabies have been chosen for their thematic and melodic appeal to children.

Hushabye Baby debuts on April 22 with a special early intro in March through Wal-Mart. The first releases will be four compilations featuring lullabied versions of hit and certified-classic songs by the biggest stars of country music today and yesterday. Each is gentle enough for the nursery yet faithful to the style and spirit of America's music. Traditional country instruments like acoustic guitar, fiddle, pedal steel, banjo and dobro are augmented by celeste, glockenspiel and xylophone to create cashmere soft instrumentals that are ideal for the nursery, and help introduce little ones to songs and musicians that their parents listen to.

Thanks to Hushabye Baby, when baby needs to sleep, it will be Sweet Dreams in the nursery rather than Mama Tried, to cite two of the country standards that get the lullaby treatment in the first CDs of the new series. Among the songs featured in the four premiere releases are chestnuts made famous by country legends like Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys (Willie Nelson), I Walk The Line (Johnny Cash), Coal Miner's Daughter (Loretta Lynn) and Coat of Many Colors (Dolly Parton) as well as hits from contemporary superstars like Should've Been a Cowboy (Toby Keith), Breathe (Faith Hill), The Dance (Garth Brooks), Love Without End, Amen (George Strait) and Grandpa (Tell Me 'Bout the Good Old Days) (The Judds) as well as recent chart-topping songs from country's newest stars like Don't Blink (Kenny Chesney), My Wish (Rascal Flatts), You'll Always Be My Baby (Sara Evans) and So Small (Carrie Underwood), to name a few (full song listings and original artists below). Future releases from Hushabye Baby will also focus on single-artist collections of songs associated with Alan Jackson, George Strait, Tim McGraw & Faith Hill, Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood, Vince Gill, Rascal Flatts and others.

The Hushabye Baby CDs are packaged with colorful and charming artwork that depicts an adorable cast of illustrated barnyard animals, each a super fan, aspiring to be the country stars they love. The booklet inside each CD will feature a recipe for Southern-style comfort food that appeals to young appetites and palates as well as those of country music-loving parents.

Hushabye Baby is the newest venture of CMH Records, which over the last 33 years has become one of the most distinguished and successful labels in bluegrass, roots and instrumental music, garnering numerous awards and Grammy nominations. Beginning in 1975, CMH recorded some of the finest work of such top bluegrass acts as Lester Flatt, The Osborne Brothers, Jim & Jesse, Mac Wiseman, Merle Travis, Grandpa Jones, Carl Story, Don Reno, The Bluegrass Cardinals, The Stonemans and many others. The label also launched the popular Pickin' On series, which offers instrumental tributes to artists from The Beatles to The Grateful Dead to U2, to the delight of traditional bluegrass fans and new listeners alike.
