Carrie Underwood isn't the only one who'll make waves at the 37th Ryder Cup Gala on Sept. 17.
Samuel Ryder's appearance is sure to cause a stir -- considering he died in 1936.
The Ryder Cup namesake will come to life, so to speak, as a hologram on stage, thanks to cutting-edge technology from Digital Illusions, a London-based company. He'll assist with the presentation of the teams at the gala.
Underwood, 25, is the featured performer for the formal fete.
Tickets for the gala, which is at the Kentucky Center, range from $400 to $850. For more information, call (502) 245-2000 or go to www.RyderCup.com.

It's not scheduled to be. ESPN doesn't start covering the Ryder Cup until Thursday that week and the gala's on Wednesday. Maybe if we're lucky they'd show a few clips from the gala but I wouldn't bet on it.
I asked a guy that golfs and he said that if they did air it he would bet that just the Golf Channel would air it if anyone was going to. He does not know if they will or won't but he said that is probably who would if there is any possibility of it being aired. I personally doubt it will be but I have the Golf Channel so I will have to watch for news of it to see.
Edit: I went to the Golf Channel website and could not find any reference to them airing the gala so maybe not. It did not mention it at all that I can find.
Well im a golfer and i can tell you The golf channel has usually just broadcast the opening ceremony. The gala happens the night before and has never been on tv. Let me say this however this event is bigger to golf than the super bowl is to football. I wounldnt be surprised if some Former Presidents were in the audience watching Carrie thats how big this is. And there are going to be lots of gentleman (golfers) who very much know how to treat a real woman (Carrie) This is an incredible honor i cant stress that enough. Maybe she can be the lucky charm and break the curse and the americans can beat the europeans even without Tiger Woods!!This is going to be a september to remember!!! Posted via Mobile Device
