carrie underwood concert!
Filed under: Random — by elliespinellie @ 7:36 am
omg. it was totally AMAZING.
first, i saw bucky’s free concert. it was pretty good actually. he put on a good show and seemed really nice. and i got TONS of good pictures. we were in the 6th row!
carrie’s opening act was keith anderson. i had looked him up on iTunes a couple weeks before the concert because i had no idea who he was, and i wasn’t too impressed. i listened to his first song and didn’t like it. so, i went and stood in line for a t-shirt (using my nerd camp money. lol) and heard his last 2 ones. still didn’t like ‘em. and i’m glad i stood in line to miss his songs.
almost the whole time carrie was out, she sang. she did 1 or 2 introductions to the songs, but besides that she sang the whole entire time. she sang all of her songs off of her carnival ride album except wheel of the world, i told you so, crazy dreams, and you won’t find this. but she sang jesus take the wheel, before he cheats, and don’t forget to remember this off of her first album. and she sang this one random old re-make (i think) of a song. i’d never heard it before so that’s why i think it’s a re-make of some old country song. when carrie sang “i know you won’t”, omg that was AMAZING. i’d heard the song before and liked it, but it wasn’t one of my favorites. when carrie sang it live, the whole last minute was huge and beautiful. so small was good live, but i know you won’t DEFINITELY beat it. lol.
that’s not from the indianapolis concert, but carrie’s vocals were similiar to that one.
the concert was so much fun. the only concert i’d been to before were hilary duff and mercyme, but i hadn’t really like them near as much as carrie. but it was a great concert, and i definitely want to see carrie live again.
My thinking has been that it will take 6 singles from CR for IKYW to have it's chance. Two ballads in a row would not be expected. However, despite all the good options that are available on CR, it makes more sense to forget about normal expectations and go with the best remaining song on the CD for a 5th release. That song would be IKYW. More and more people are beginning to realize it. Live or recorded, it's amazing. I'll take 2 ballads in a row for a chance to hear this song on radio and at awards shows.
I don't think one can mistake Paradise City for a country song - probably she's referrring to I Told You So because Carrie's vocals are amazing on that live too
Thank you for my set Clay! Saw And Met The Cast Of Wicked On 10/07/06 And 11/26/06!I Met Carrie On March 22nd!!!! Saw Carrie At Her Fan Club Party In Nashville On 6/03/08! Met Carrie AGAIN October 6th!
I really like the new arrangement for IKYW. Sounds so good live. I think she is almost ready to put out a live concert CD/DVD. Or re-release CR with some live bonus tracks. IKYW would have a chance to shine.

shouldnt worry about the 2 ballads in a row theory. many artists have done that before... i really hope they are reading all the raves IKYW gets on her concert set

well, she had her chance to grab it and she knew she blew it
That might be the best I have heard her sing that live.
I love this song,
I would love for this to go to radio.
It is the only chance for a crossover hit, as it is the one song that my non-country friends identify with, They also like YWFT, but really IKYW is a stand out.
