Estimated crowd of 12000! As of this afternoon I think Carrie'd sold around 9000 so there were probably around 3000 walkups.
Note to Team Carrie: Release live IKYW somehow somewhere!

Carrie Underwood has mastered the professional part of being a chart-topping singer, and she's beginning to share emotions that someday might make her a talent for the ages.
During Underwood's concert Friday night at the Indiana State Fair, two songs packed significantly poignant wallops: "I Know You Won't" (from 2007 album "Carnival Ride") and "Don't Forget to Remember Me" (from her 2005 debut, "Some Hearts").
A tender, vulnerable rendition of "I Know You Won't" triggered memories of the fantastically forlorn Karen Carpenter as Underwood detailed the inadequacies of a love interest.
"Don't Forget to Remember Me," meanwhile, showcased Underwood on acoustic guitar while she sang about empty-nest anxiety from both a parent's and daughter's perspective.
Elsewhere, Underwood's show was as shiny as the silver top and knee-high leather boots she wore onstage.
The 25-year-old Oklahoma native plowed through familiar radio hits in a confident fashion far removed from the timid singer who appeared on Monument Circle during Final Four weekend in 2006.
She fit the part of naive natural when winning the "American Idol" talent search, and she reminded Friday's estimated audience of 12,000 that rise to stardom transpired just three years ago.
It's surely a confidence booster when thousands of fans rally around "Before He Cheats," the signature tune that wrapped Underwood's 15-song, 75-minute concert.
Thanks to vivid imagery in the lyric, "I took a Louisville Slugger to both headlights," "Before He Cheats" may rank as this generation's "The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia."
And when people talk about modern country music possessing a backbeat that formerly belonged to rock 'n' roll, they're talking about songs such as "Get Out of This Town" from "Carnival Ride."
Befitting the song's title, "Get Out of This Town is tailored for a rural drive with the windows down. While Rascal Flatts had to borrow "Life is a Highway" from '90s Canadian rocker Tom Cochrane, Underwood has a getaway anthem of her own.
With just two albums on her resume, Underwood can't quite compile a perfect set list. Paint-by-numbers ballad "Just a Dream" made limited emotional impact, and a cover of "Paradise City" by Guns N' Roses belonged in a late-night Las Vegas lounge.
Overall, Underwood distinguished herself at the fair as more than a calculated hit machine, and she provided evidence that the best is yet to come.

I think this is the review that will be in the Indianapolis Star. Estimated crowd of 12000! As of this afternoon I think Carrie'd sold around 9000 so there were probably around 3000 walkups.
There's a picture of Carrie at the link too. She looks happy!

12,000--- damn! Jessica simpson barely got 4,000 they said-- and that is with buy one get one free sales. lol Ihope she reads this article. lol
overall great review! thanx! I forgot that carrie played in Indy for the College Basketball final 4 tournaments a few years ago-- feels like so long ago. lol
But how can they call JAD a "paint by numbers ballad with no emotional impact?" wow. very strange. That kind of pisses me off- sorry.
I get that IKYW seems to be a crowd favorite live-- but JAD is an amazing song--- and it is very good live too. I don't get how they can diss it like that.

Very good review, minus the JAD remark of course but I am happy it is so good other then that and boy the numbers that came to see her is great. I almost think when she sings songs so well like IKYW, that reviewers seem to think anything else pales in comparison. That is probably why JAD does not seem as emotional for them - because it is probably compared to IKYW in their minds.
I was there. I think 12,000 is a good estimate as it was almost full. There were still seats way up top on the sides the the grandstand in the middle was totally full.
Carrie rocked Paradise City I don't know what the reviewer saw. JAD was great as well but he is right IKYW with the this new arrangement is absolutely amazing.
I think he is comparing JAD to IKYW and JTTW and in comparison it didn't have the same emotional impact.
Of course I am dwelling on the few negative things he said. 98% of that review is great and right on. The crowd was really great too. I was kind of worried as they didn't seem to be that into Keith Anderson but this was a Carrie crowd Another thing is that no booze at this fair. Keith Anderson kept wondering why the crowd wasn't very rowdy and then got told it was a dry fair and kept joking about it in his set. It was a great show.
First time I heard Carnival Ride Songs, "I Knw You Wn't" is my favorite, again & again, I do hope & pray that she'll gonna release as single, wow 12,000 versus 4,000 he he

I think the reviewer is probably more into country and was just saying, in his opinion Paradise City should be performed in Vegas or such but he does not know how the Carrie fans love her singing that song. I did not get that he was saying it was performed badly. I took it that HE thought it was out of place or such. I don't agree of course because I love when she sings that.

yeah I have a new found respect for the state of Indiana and its fine fine citizens. lol
I think that IKYW is much more powerful than JAD in her alive performances in particuliarly. I don't know if it is where JAD is in the setlist that it makes it seem inconsequential or what but I barely notice it as well in the concert I was at. I may feel different now that it has become more visible w/ the airplay and video.
