I think the best time for a promo tour would be mid January next year.

In Australia we have our annual Country Music Award festival in Tamworth that runs for a week and what a great time to introduce Carrie to the Australian Country music fans.

The Road To Tamworth is a contest for new artist looking to break into
country music.

The grand final for it is held during the Tamworth Country Music festival.

This is the festival when they award the Golden Guitars to the Aussie stars for things like Top Album,Top Song etc etc.

OH! Yes yes thats right i remember now. Thanks! I always thought Road to Tamworth was on during the Tamworth Country Music Festival, maybe i assumed cause the Grand final is held then...hmm, but yeah, that would be very interesting to see wouldnt it. She could see some aussie country talent. Wish Jessica Mauboy was there...she would show carrie our best talent (not better than Carrie, but ya know, we try :P haha)

I hope Carrie can go to Australia and maybe she can promote Australia too and make a TV special, just like the famous group "ABBA" in 1977.

Note: ABBA became truely famous around the world partly because they did tour Australia in 1977.

Maybe it's just me getting overexcited, but this seems like a fairly large newspaper. I don't understand why they would write about an unknown to most of Australia *hoping* to come down under. It seems like they are trying to start some buzz, because maybe her trip down there isn't too far from now.

Either way, I hope they release a physical single. I'll have a copy ordered to be imported the day it's released

This is the biggest selling newspaper in Sydney.

Carrie is certainly well known by Country music fans in Australia and I would guess that something is definitely in the planning stages as the guy that wrote
this column never writes about country music artists.

I would guess that Carrie touring with Keith Urban would have had a lot to
do with whatever is happening as I am sure that through Keith ,Carrie would
now be aware of how pasionate the Australian Country music fans are.

I would only be guessing but this is what I would hope would happen.

Carrie will come down some time toward the end of the year for a promo tour
and then return for concerts with Keith.

Nicole and Keith will want to spend some time in Australia with the new bub
and that would be an ideal opportunity for Keith to do some concerts.

We will just have to wait and see

American Idol winner, Carrie Underwood, has taken the North American market by storm but, despite a loyal fanbase, she has yet to make it big in Australia. Her record label is hoping to change that. “We’re committed to breaking her in Australia,” said Sony BMG Australia chief Denis Handlin. “We’re working on getting her to Australia for a promo tour as soon as her schedule permits and for a full tour following the promotional visit.”

Well, it’s not like she hasn’t been connected with Oz - she’s been on tour with aussie Keith Urban and performed Australian Idol winner, Guy Sebastian’s song “Angels Brought Me Here” during the American Idol finale. I’m sure she’ll be a big hit if she heads over there!

I hope it all works out..

It seems to me that they are going to focus on breaking her into the mainstream market, since she's already established in the Country scene.

^ hmmmm, just as i thought, no one noticed my already scanned pic of the newspaper already back on page 2 or something when i made the thread awhile ago, o well what can you do.


Either way w/e but im sooooooooooooooooo excited for her to come here! A dream come true! I reacon id buy tickets for multiple nights if i can , cause she wouldnt come back here for awhile after that tour id imagine....depending on how well the tour goes

That's what I was wondering about- thanx! I think Keith urban toured in march too, right? We were all hoping carrie would go with him.

I think Carrie's best chance is to be booked as part of a country fest so she doesn't have to worry about filling up too many venues, her first time out. It is far easier to be part of a festival or fair with other country acts.

I cannot wait! This is so exciting!

Paul-- what talk shows do you think she will be on to promote herself there? Is there an MTV down under, and maybe a CMT? thanx.
