Its actually really manipulative though on her part. She is making herself look like the cute, innocent, and "classy" one. She is obviously green with envy and full of "shidoobie" as Chelsea Handler would say.

Jessica Simpson often cites legends like Willie Nelson and Dolly Parton as her musical heroes. But who among the newer country artists really impresses her these days? The Boot got a rather surprising answer when they posed that question to the pop turned country star.
Jessica, You Cutup!
Jessica Simpson kinda sorta directed a jab at veggie-lover Carrie Underwood with this infamous t-shirt back in June. Tony Romo, Simpson's boyfriend and Underwood's ex, ducks behind.
"I think it's impressive how many No. 1s Carrie Underwood has," Simpson said, with a nervous laugh. "Her choice in songs is really great, and she has an incredible voice. As far as new people, she has one of the strongest voices out there."
So what about this supposed rivalry between the two songbirds?
"It's definitely media driven. People are just trying to make a story out of nothing," Simpson insists. "I respect her and hopefully she respects me. We've just dated the same guy -- that's it!"
That guy is Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, who was briefly linked to Underwood last year. Romo is now in a serious relationship with Simpson. But Underwood recently told Allure magazine that he still calls her.
In the September issue of Allure magazine, Carrie Underwood dishes on former flames Tony Romo and Chace Crawford ... as well as one unnamed ex who cheated on the 'American Idol' queen.
"I don't understand why she would say that," Simpson recently told a San Francisco radio station. "I respect Carrie, and I would never say anything like that."
With all the time she's spending in Nashville these days, Simpson and Underwood are bound to run into each other. So would Simpson walk up to her media-deemed nemesis and give her a hug?
"Um ... I would definitely stop and say, 'Hi,'" Simpson answered.
Simpson is hoping to take the spotlight away from the tabloid nonsense and focus it back on the music with her new country CD, 'Do You Know,' which is due September 9. The Boot talked to her about her favorite songs on the album, including the very sexy title track, written by Dolly Parton. We'll have more on our exclusive interview with Jessica Simpson next week.

Well, that first compliment was said before the Allure article and I doubt Carrie will stop to talk to her now - if she can help it. Also, if she wants to get back on track with her music, she would only talk about her music during these interviews.
Thank you for my set Clay! Saw And Met The Cast Of Wicked On 10/07/06 And 11/26/06!I Met Carrie On March 22nd!!!! Saw Carrie At Her Fan Club Party In Nashville On 6/03/08! Met Carrie AGAIN October 6th!
Well, it appears Jessica likes to help the media going around calling Carrie a liar and saying how she and Tony laugh about the Allure article. She is making the rounds trying to make Carrie sound pathetic. I heard her say TR would be with CU if he want to, but he is with her and she don't know why Carrie would make-up stuff like she is. Jess is a media drama queen and I hate it she is trying to pull Carrie down. Carrie is honest and has high integrity and I use to like Jess okay, but no more. Her statement above was just for publicity, just as everything she says and one can't believe a word she says.

OH Thank god this makes up for everything NOT I expect these theatrics out of Jessica BUT WHERE IS TONY ROMO . THe last time i saw him he was choking another playoff game .He could end all this right now . But he has no bal** Well i guess Carrie found out with friends like Romo you better hire someone to pull the knifes out of your back!!!BOOOOOOM!!Hear that its: the sound of this backfireing in Jessicas face
JS has got some nerve trying to blame the media for the feud when she's running around radio stations fueling the flames herself.
Complimenting Carrie was the right approach and it's what JS should have done from the start if she were smart. I'm sure her PR people have talked to her about this now. The problem is that the compliments are coming after she's tried to make Carrie look bad so they look like damage control and there's no reason to believe JS is sincere. JS looks like she's talking out of both sides of her mouth.
As far as respect I'm sure Carrie respects all human beings on a basic level but you gotta earn respect beyond that. Carrie has. JS has lost a lot of people's respect over the years with her behavior, including mine. I do give people the chance to change for the better. But recent events show me JS hasn't changed for the better and is still the same insecure and hypocritical attention seeker trying to cover for her mediocre singing by getting publicity through her personal life. IMO what she's shown is that she hasn't learned much from everything she says she's been through.
So JS gets a point for saying the right thing once but it's too little too late IMO.

What's funny is that no one can be with a girl if the girl's not interested. It's really sad how JS doesn't seem to realize this. But she's the one who always seems to lose her identity to every guy she's with. It's like JS doesn't realize that girls have a say too.

Agree. Carrie didn't want to be w/ Tony R. and always would say they were just friends whereas he would be the one to make it seem more. If there was a relationship, Carrie always wanted it on the down low but not in the public eye like Tony did. So to me it seemed like Carrie didn't want to be get and eventually moved on w/ Chace, who was more fitting as he liked his private life private too.
