Why didn't Idol win????????? RIGGED!!! Carrie AND Jordin were BOTH there! Idol was the #1 watched show in '08! Don't go telling me DWTS deserved that award!

Wow, just wow!! I loved the slightly slowed down version so she could linger on some of the lyrics. Her performance was breathtaking....my heart was in my throat the whole time and I had goosebumps throughout. Maybe no standing O, but remember all these people are stars themselves, so probably not as star struck as her true fans. But the applause was strong and they were definitely wowed by the glory notes and impressed by and appreciative of her perfomance. I have no doubt her performance will be the talk of the town. And gosh, only one way to spell both amazing and gorgeous....C-A-R-R-I-E. So proud, as always, to be a Carrie fan!

you don't have to be star struck to give someone an ovation out of respect, and I don't think they were too shocked to stand either. I think it's regular Hollywood not standing because she doens't happen to be Aretha Franklin or someone they would see as being worthy of standing for. That's JMO

I may be in the minority but DWTS was better both the spring and fall seasons that Idol this year. JMO...

My 2 fav. DWTS winners,: Brooke Burke and Kristi Yamaguchi won this year while I had no favorite in the Top 2 on Idol.

After this incredible performance,Grammy needs to have Carrie back for encore. Inviting some country princess to sing not only put audiences to sleep but placed country music back to stone age.
