PETA praises Carrie Underwood
Carrie Underwood has won praise from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, which has released its annual “In/Out” List for 2009.
“Sexiest Vegetarian” Carrie Underwood, who hails from Checotah, has been dubbed “in,” while “‘real’ (oblivious) girl” Jessica Simpson has been ruled “out.”
“Fur foe” Eva Mendes is on the “in” list, while “fur-flaunter” Eva Longoria is listed as “out.”
Not suprisingly, convicted dog fighter and former NFL quarterback Michael Vick is on PETA’s “out” list, while Olympic gold medal-winning swimmer Michael Phelps is “in.”
“Choosing kind trends over cruel ones is pretty much a no-brainer, because compassion is always in fashion,” PETA President Ingrid E. Newkirk said in a news release. “True trendsetters know that kindness to animals-unlike mood rings and mullets-never goes out of style.”

3/18/09 - All I can say about tonight is that for the first time I really want Carrie's music to continue progressing more to the traditional side of country music and I think it will. I don't care if it doesn't sell as well or all go #1, it's beautiful with Carrie's voice. Tonight I saw her as a Country legend for the first time.

There is no reason to send negative messages "Real Girls Eat Meat", you only end up living in the negativity you create.
The fact that Carrie is a Veggie by choice but does not prech it, makes a much bigger impact than a shirt that has to do the talking for you.

I respect Carries choice to be a vegetarian. I just dont like PETA and their crazed tactics. So I really wish they wouldnt do a celebrity list at all.

While I am mostly a vegetarian, the only meat I do eat is grilled chicken and turkey, the healthy meats. Certainly they aren't against those because the health nut that I am, those kinds of meats are good for you. Plus, I don't see how one can really function at all without any protein. Eating chicken, turkey, tuna, etc white meats are good for you and good source of protein.

PETA goes too far sometimes. Did any one see when a man (from my hometown) was decapatated on a GreyHound bus and PETA sort of joked about it happening with something on their site. I have all the respected in the world or people who care and protect animals, but PETA is just... I don't even know the word.
