Maybe if she sang IKYW at an award show IKYW will join those.

i didn't even grow up on country, so theres no reason for me to be biased for traditional country. but to me, its clear that's where she excels the best. not that she doesn't excel on the other stuff.
I agree I love her traditional stuff also

About IKYW, isnt there a diva show in Las vegas where lots of singers from different genres come to sing ? It is televised
I remember like Celine,Sherly,Beyonce etc ...

I think it would be great if Carrie could sing IKYW at this type of show.
Carrie has a right to be included in such a big show, she is one of the best & biggest vocalist right now, but I dont know for sure if that show still exists..

Also can someone fill me in, why Country's biggest acts always seem to be dissed
Like Faith before,Leann,Shania ,Dixie Chicks ( Landslide)? arent those the females who brought in the most new fans /album sales
It really confuses me on why they always been accused of stuff, imho every format needs some big stars.. With Carrie now they got one.

(The only thing I don't like about it is that many country music "purist" music promoters seem to want to ignore Carrie!)

I myself find the country artist's need to appear pop almost always goes bad somehow. I hear on a regular basis Faith Hill's "Way You Love Me" on pop radio, and while it is okay, there is something about it that just does not make it "fit in" with all the other pop tracks of the day.

Another example of country-gone pop that did not work was the Garth Brooks/Chris Gaines experiment.

The ONLY way I could see Carrie attempt to break into the pop scene is not through the fun "bad girl" songs, but the ballads that stretch her vocal chords to the limit. Songs like Wasted, So Small, and Ever Ever After are the closest sound to this type of sound. This type of music is the type of sound that made Celine Dion an international superstar. Carrie's only way to enter the pop would would be do become a singing Diva!
See - this is where you and I differ. When I was about 14, I LOVED Celine and Whitney and that style of pop. It would absolutely kill me if Carrie became a pop ballad-singing diva like that - I love Carrie for her girl-next-door quality and her country roots. Yes, she can sing those ballads with the best of them, but I don't think she needs to. I would die if I had to listen to a whole Celine or Whitney CD now...I've changed and so has my taste in music.
