It would really be something for country to have 3 out of the top 4 country albums women. And the top album a bunch of old guys selling for nostalgia reasons.
huh?i dont understand why taylor is re-releasing her album...
Yeah.. she did like a month ago though. It spikes up sales. Hers were starting to drop before and I guess the label likes to do things sometimes to milk up as much more sales as possible. A few new songs are on it with a dvd so a lot of people will go back out and buy that one.
Eagles - 1,969,103
Taylor Swift - 1,548,568
Some Hearts- 1,434,555
Still Feels Good - 1,293,907
Carnival Ride - 1,269,151
Tim McGraw's Let It Go - 1,222,732
* Carnival Ride overtakes Tim McGraw's Let It Go.
* The Eagles' Long Road Out of Eden has a lock on the #1 country album position, so I won't be doing the Carrie vs. Eagles comparison anymore.
* Taylor Swift looks to hold the #2 position with only 3 weeks left in the calendar year. I'm foregoing the comparison with Some Hearts, but will continue with Carnival Ride.
Taylor Swift vs. Carnival Ride
- 279,417 albums separate Taylor Swift and Carnival Ride
- CR would have to outsell TS by an average of 93,139 albums a week for 3 weeks to catch up
- Last week, CR only outsold TS by 7,981 albums
- With only 3 weeks left and the sales difference between the 2 albums not reaching the average number needed, it doesn't look like CR can overtake TS.
Carrie's Some Hearts vs. Rascal Flatts' Still Feels Good
- 140,648 albums separate Still Feels Good and Some Hearts
- SFG would have to outsell SH by an average of 46,883 albums a week for 3 weeks to catch up
- Last week, SFG outsold SH by 55,894 albums
- With the unpredictable holiday sales coming, SFG may overtake SH. It could be close, but I have to give the edge to SFG, being the newer album.
Still Feels Good vs. Carnival Ride
- 24,756 albums separate Still Feels Good and Carnival Ride
- CR would have to outsell SFG by an average of 8,252 albums a week for 3 weeks to catch up
- Last week, CR outsold SFG by 27,825 albums
- CR will overtake SFG by next week.
Some Hearts vs. Carnival Ride
- 165,404 albums separate SH and CR
- CR would have to outsell SH by an average of 55,135 albums a week for 3 weeks to catch up
- Last week, CR outsold SH by 83,719
- CR will overtake SH 2 weeks from now.
Right now, the projected top 5 ranking of country albums by year's end looks like this:
1. Long Road Out of Eden
2. Taylor Swift
3. Carnival Ride
4. Still Feels Good
5. Some Hearts
Excellent showing for Carrie with 2 albums likely to end up in the top 5!
