Well no offence but do you actually expect LN to be competing with new tracks from upcoming albums? Sugarland and Jessica should be selling as well as they are because they're new songs. LN is an album track that has already peaked in airplay and Taylor's SSN just hit the top 10 on radio so it's just getting started.
I'm sure Jessica's fans are curious of the new genre she is trying and excited to get something new from her. I am thinking this is short term but who knows. I have done a little prowling and Jessica definitely has the potential to have a good album. Luke Laird and Hilary Lindsey, Dolly, and Rachel Proctor co-wrote w/ her so her material should be solid. I have faith in Carrie and that she continues to be a force in country music. Just imagine she is still growing as an artist, it is going to be fun. Carrie does not need to always be no. 1 or else all the other fans would boycott.
Carrie's is still in the top 5 of all the country categories (i.e. top song, top album, top video) so Carrie's doing great imo. She is clearly visible on the country itune page so all is good.

I watched Jessica's performance on the View yesterday and lets just say based on that performance I wasn't worried for Carrie. Not that Jessica did bad cause she didn't (she did fine), but it just didn't do anything for me. Maybe if Jessica has a better song to showcase her vocals I might change my mind but based on that performance she was just okay for me. For me and according to herself, Come on Over isn't her best song. It's just an okay song imo. But she might have some better songs though.
^ thanx. I cannot believe Hillary lindsey helped jessica out on her album. She is carrie's friend I thought- so it sort of feels like a betrayal of sorts, to help jessica. (sigh) whatever. I guess we just have to accept that the barrage of blondes trying to be carrie is never going to end. But none of them measure up to carrie- so no real worries there.
^ betrayal?? well, business is business. hilary wrote for martina mcbride before carrie came along, how would we feel if martina's fans said that about carrie?
lemme just say that i'm pretty apathetic about JS but the curiosity factor about her going to country and some supposed rivalry with carrie is working in her favour. heck, i find myself very curious how her album will turn out, even if i find her rationale for going country disconcerting. i think the fact that people may not expect much from her is in fact working in her favour so her album may be surprisingly pleasant.
it's pretty clever marketing on her side, and i think we might live with it for a while. however, i think we won't be doing carrie favors by appearing intimidated and start fan wars - we'll only be helping JS and and giving her undue credit. just relax.....this could be what we call the little horror ride in the carnival, lol.

I am so sad--- Jessica simpson is beating Carrie on the itunes country songs charts!!!???
What is happening guys? And Taylor has 3 songs in the top 10 again, while carrie only has 1.
I hate the charts lately. I cannot believe people are actually buying Jessica's song. I hear her on the radio alot too- more then carrie lately.
I am starting to hate country music-- if they start to play jessica more then carrie regularly, something is seriously wrong. with this picture
Oooh, do not worry. Trust me, I am old enough to experience the come and go of many musical artists in the past 40 years--and may I say that Carrie Underwood is a MEGASTAR and she will be a legend in country music. Carrie Underwood is a bigger superstar than we all think.
On the other hand, Jessica Simpson is an artist who is still trying where can she fit in music industry, and I will esure you that her musical career will be temporary (short).
Have faith in our girl--CARRIE UNDERWOOD

Tee is our designated worry wart.....hehehe....but I like her cause she does all our worrying for us....lol....Carrie's in a great place imo. Great sales (even if a few may be ahead of her like TS), great tour....Carrie seems more relaxed on stage and is getting better as an entertainer......I'm happy.
I was talking to a friend and we agreed that Carrie touring with Keith was a turning point in her concert skills. It was like night and day during and after her tour with what I think should be the next EOTY, Keith Urban. She learned so many new skills and became so comfortable on stage. Thank you Keith!
