Wow! Well, I'll be sure to listen to that station more often because I still haven't heard it. I must have had rotten luck on radio the past few days. Thanks for the info!

Another little tidbit. I was looking at All Access in the Country Hot Picks section and I noticed the So Small is listed in the top 5. Bascially, this is where a group of program directors and music directors list their hot songs. Most give their top 3. But quite a few only do a top 2. And a few do 1 or 4. Then the top 5 are the ones that are on the most lists. So Small is #5 behind Rascal Flatts' TMT, Brad Paisley's Onlinr, Tim McGraw's IYRT and Rodney Atkins' TAMP. Admittedly, it doesn't that many votes to get in the top 5 (So Small was only on 7 of the 50 lists), as the picks are all over the map. But, being that the song hasn't even been out a week, I was surprised it was on as many lists as it was.

Thank you Cary for the chart. I have a few questions. Do you think Carrie's SO SMALL will fly up the chart too fast like Kenny Chesney's new single and will be going down before the new album comes out. The CMA's are Wed. Nov 7th. , two weeks after her album. Do you think she could still be #1 on the charts with SO SMALL? Carrie will also be a performer and sing So Small, right?? Thank you

The top 10 is looking pretty congested right now. And there are several heavy-hitters just outside the top 10. So, I don't expect to see a superfast climb after the first week. So, I don't think that So Small will peak before the album release. But, after less than a week, I can't predict if or when So Small will hit #1 or how long it might be there.
I assume that Carrie will perform at the CMA awards. The obvious song for her to sing is So Small. But, earlier this year, the CMA did a survey about how to improve the CMA awards including questions regarding different types of song choices. If they got feedback that indicated that they should shake things up a bit, the song selections this year may not correspond to what we have seen in the past.

I certainly hope they let Carrie sing So Small on the CMA's.
I think that song will blow off the roof with that voice of hers.
Also a note for SS. KUPL 98.7 in Portland has SS being played 3 times a day so far.
Always a very nice intro to announce Carrie and her new song.

Pretty impressive. The line is almost vertical. I would call that a successful launch. LOL

love your chart cary... So is it a safe bet that carrie may not break gretchen's record? not that big a deal if she doesn't-- it will still be a very impressive debut-- and her best yet ever. But of course it would be great if she did break it...

Carrie may or may not do better Gretchen. And it really doesn't matter either way. The big thing is that country radio is giving So Small the kind of immediate airplay that only a few artists enjoy. In the last year, only 3 other songs (all by male artists/groups) have gotten this kind of launch - Keith Urban's Once In A Lifetime, Kenny Chesney's Never Wanted Nothing More and Rascal Flatts' Take Me There.

Let's hope So Small ends up following the path of Never Wanted Nothing More instead of Once In A Lifetime (except for a little slower ascent to the top...of course, Never Wanted Nothing More is now starting to gain a little now). It's too early to determine what path Take Me There will take.

I couldn't care less what kind of debut SS makes. We already know that it is going to be very good, so I really don't care which point it exactly ends up at. What I really care about is if it will become a DFTRM type #1 or a BHC type #1 (I am of course assuming that it will hit #1).

It's strange that a lot of songs that debut high don't make it to #1!
Keith's "Once in a Lifetime" had a really high debut yet only made it to #6
Shania Twain's "I'm Gonna Getcha Good" had a high debut, but only made it to #7
Lets hope Carrie has another #1 with So Small!
By the way...Thanks for the Chart Cary! This is really getting exciting now! I can't wait to watch So Small climb those charts!

Yeah Keith has had some issue about making no. 1. I really wanted the last two to make it, but they only made it to no. 2 , I believe. I rather that So small have a slow steady progression all the way to the top after this great debut.

So Small (+220 spins, +2.04 million AIs) moves up 2 spots to #27, ending the week at 1200 spins and 11.484 million AIs. So Small is now being played on 172 stations. Big & Rich's Lost In This Moment and Jake Owen's Startin' With Me go recurrent this afternoon. So, So Small will end its 1st week at #25 on Mediabase. It still looks like a #20-#22 debut on Billboard/R&R.
On AC, BHC (-3 spins, +0.075 million AIs) remains at #6, where it will end the week on Mediabase. On Billboard/R&R, BHC will end the week at #7.
On Hot AC, BHC (-21 spins, -0.098 million AIs) drops 2 spots to #16, where it will end the week. BHC will probably be at #15 or #16 on Billboard/R&R this week.
ISBY (-10 spins, -0.06 million AIs) drops a spot to #57. ISBY will move up to #53 or #54 when the recurrents are removed. This will likely be ISBY's last week on Mediabase as it will probably go recurrent next Sunday. It may hold on to a spot in the top 60 for an additional week or two before it drops off the Billboard/R&R chart.
