Although overall sales are down, if you compare CR to SH ,CR is selling about 89% of what SH sold 2 years ago. This at a time when cd sales are about 25 -30 % less than they were during the first 3 months of SH.I think that speaks to a very strong album. At least it makes me feel good. Are any other artists doing as well?

Not many I'd say.
Well I just want to say that even though sales is in the doldrums at the moment, Carrie has the voice and the intangibles that go beyond numbers. Even if Carrie doesn't get to sell battered-truckloads of cds, I aint gonna be less of a fan. The bright side now is that AAG has the potential to give CR legs. Go Carrie!

CR album sales so far have been somewhat disappointing. Why the album is not selling better is really a mystery. In any event, Carrie's career is going real well and can easily survive weaker than desired CR sales for now. I'm certainly not giving up on CR, Carrie's tour and upcoming TV appearances will help boost sales and if the album can produce one or more big crossover singles, CR sales could really pop. I think CR will be seen as a real success if it scans 3 million copies sold, so that is my goal for the album.

I think the most important thing is that, when every albums are STILL decreasing in sales, Carnival Ride's sales increased last week!

Sorry for the late update. I was away for a holiday and I have just seen the grammys and all I can say about Carrie's performance is: Holy!
OK, graphs on first page show CR selling 19.2K (-5%) and SH selling 10.8K (-4%). And as we all know, SH is now certified septuple platinum. Yeah!

Graphs at first page show Carnival Ride having an 8% increase in sales to 20.7K. And due in part to the spirited BHC performance at the Grammys, Some Hearts recorded a 33% increase to 14.4K.
Thanks again Cary for the numbers.

Grammys and Valentines Day have always been kind to Carrie's album sales and this year is no exception. Carnival Ride recorded a 43% increase (29.9K) while Some Hearts has a 45% increase (20.9K). Total sales for Carrie's albums last week: 50.8 K. Last year at the same time of the year Some Hearts had a 60% increase to sell 61K. Graphs at first page.
