ah thats awesome!

A-AG being the first platinum single from CR clearly demonstrates it's amzing crossover ability. Although the crossover wasn't put into place, I think A-AG would have been widely sucessful. I know Carrie didn't want the crossover, but hey.......I think if they were to try crossing over, the first single choice would have to be A-AG, although many people would have chose LN. If A-AG was pushed to crossover I believe it would be pushing 2,000,000 downloads by now, and CR sales would have soared passed 3,000,000. Thats just what I believe. From the start I felt as if A-AG was the true "Biggest Hit" with the most potential on this album. It's too bad that it wasn't looked at that way. I truely believe things would be different if A-AG was pushed more towards a crossover instead of LN.

You know, it's probably more important to Carrie if it didn't cross over. How many country songs do that without crossing over? How many all genre songs do that? The fact that it was played almost exclusively on country radio probably means a lot more to her than BHC.
^that is very true
a country song hit platinum
however it did do well on radio disney, which helped some
but this is sooooo great!
AAG is awesome!
I understand that, I'm not saying that I wished it crossed over, I'm saying that if it had...things would be different. I know Carrie didn't support the whole crossover thing from the start, but even if it was promoted at Country Radio a little more, that could have had the same affect BHC had. BHC wasn't pushed to crossover at first. It was just relentlessly promoted a country radio which sparked an audience of non-country listeners. I just believe that A-AG had that same power, it just needed an extra boost. If A-AG was promoted like LN was, A-AG would have done better, and I think that would have lead to a crossover. I don't think it would have been another "BHC" however I believe it could have been a moderate crossover country hit. I'm sure if Carrie's promotion team has one regret, it's not pushing A-AG to the fullest. The fact that A-AG was one of the least promoted singles off of CR, and is the first to go platinum proves this statement. SS was riding the wake of SH and was promoted heavily because of CR. A-AG then was the second single, it was performed on TV only a few times; the Opry, and the 2008 CMT awards. LN, the third single was then performed on the ACMs, American Idol finale, and even began a push towards crossover. JAD was a summer single that recieved little TV promotion other than the CMA performance after it already peaked. Finally you have ITYS which was probably the most promoted single or at least tied with SS and/or LN having been performed on American Idol as a duet, and sold as a duet with Randy Travis. ITYS was also performed at the 2009 ACMs where she was awarded EOTY and FVOTY. Little effort was put into A-AG compared to the other singles off of CR which I believe was a mistake. A-AG had potential because it appealed to an audience of Teenage girls. They could have taken advantage of that and played it at radio that is listened to most by teenage girls causing it to become even more popular. Instead they made this sort of move with LN which ended up being a flop at pop/ac radio. I just wish A-AG wasn't so short lived because I believe it had so much more life...it just needed a push.

I think this is probably top 3 favorite single off of CR, and most deserving of Platinum.

Oh, okay. I agree with you actually. AAG could've been a HUGE country hit, and instead they just kind of ignored it for another artist. However, you're forgetting that AAG was played on Radio Disney moderately, and mostly teenage girls listen to that.
Other than that snippet, I agree with this post. It just sounded like you wish Carrie would do pop and country.
That's awesome!!!
Awesome news!!
