I feel bad for kellie --- but the only reason she sold so little, is the lack of promotion.
Ihave not heard her on any talk shows or seen any mention of her album at all, except on CMT, etc.
and her lead single is bland. She has a few decent songs on there though so sales may pick up.

Here is the HDD top 10 prediction:

YOUR WEAKEND TOP 10 CHART PREVIEW: T.I.’s momentum continues unabated heading into the weekend, with the Grand Hustle/Atlantic MC headed toward the rare air of 570-590k in a resounding #1 bow. Arista/RMG diva Jennifer Hudson is having an impressive first week of her own, as projections put the album at 215-225k. Next week’s chart will feature a third six-figure debut, with Star Trak/Interscope’s Robin Thicke en route to 140-150k territory. At this point it appears that the #4 slot will also be a debut, with James Taylor (Hear Music/Concord) at 85-90k, edging three-week charttopppers Metallica (WB) at 80-85k. The second five will look something like this: #6, Ne-Yo (Def Jam/IDJ), 70-75k; #7, Kid Rock (Atlantic) or Jack's Mannequin (Sire), 50-55k; #9, Jazmine Sullivan (J/RMG), Kellie Pickler (BNA/SBMG Nashville) or Anberlin (Universal Republic) 40-45k. You may now return to talking straight to the American people, doggone it. (10/3a)

thanx cary.
So would you say CR might be certified 3x platinum by November now, do to the Xmas re-release? I imagine Walmart must have ordered at least 300-400k copies of it...to get through the holiday season. That should put CR over 3 million shipped, right?
Or did I figure this wrong. thanx!

I agree. I think her current single is the worst single she has released so far, and she really needed a strong first single to generate sales. Her last album was released about 5 months after Idol, so the Idol effect definitely helped out. Plus, I believe her lead-off single, "Red High Heels", from her debut album was well inside the Top 20 (compared to her lead-off single from her second album which is at #24). I believe "Red High Heels" was a great, catchy song that did what a first single is supposed to do. So, the single also helped out sales. And, something that can't be disputed are cd sales in general going down and unfortunately for Kellie, her album is now coming out at a time where Americans are becoming very scared about the economy.
I believe her first album was so consistant because right after "Red High Heels", "I Wonder" received tons of praise, and even though it only did slightly better than "Red High Heels" on the charts, I believe it brought her more fans, and therefore, more people purchased her album.
Since "I Wonder", I don't believe her singles have been as strong. This, along with the fact that the Idol buzz is gone and the economy is driving sales down, is why I think sales for this album are considerably lower. I'm not surprised her sales are this low. In fact, I honestly thought her sales would be more in the 30k range. I think that in order for this second album to sell consistantly well like her first one did, her next singles are going to have to be much stronger. If not, I think this album will fade fast and will be lucky to sell a third of what her debut did (which has sold 788k to date).
I haven't listened to her album, but I hope there are better singles and that she can make a turn-around. She isn't one of my favorite artists by any means, but I do like her and have liked some of her songs.

Good post. To be honest, I have only gotten time to listen to the clips and think her album is going to be too ballad heavy but I need to listen to the entire song for each to honestly judge. From a couple clips, it sounded like there might be a couple songs that are good but not sure about the rest. But again, I can't speak fairly until I listen to the entire songs I know. I also thought Red High Heals was a good catchy song and got kind of hooked on it somewhat but just have not heard another one like that since from her.

I just checked the Idol Sales Summary (which is what I should have done but didn't), and you are almost right. She has sold 788k to date. I will edit my post. Thanks for pointing out I was wrong. I don't know what I was thinking.

I figured you would jump in and was waiting for it, LOL. I will listen to all in their entirety and then will correct that if need be. But some did not hook me from the start like Red High Heels but will give it a fair chance.
Can I ask if on your Kellie site, if anyone says anything about Carrie, do you defend her?

that is ok... i just think like always people are underrating Kellie, i really do believe in this album, her next single "Best Days" will probaly be her biggest hit yet...and about "DYKYB" it is not Kellie strongest single but i respect the fact that she choiced this, she loves the song and i am a big fan too, it is not bland... it is just a song that has a different kind of appel, the song will appel for some, she wrote the song for her little fans and a lot of people love it, it is still climbing on the chart.

to be honest i only had to defend her a very few times, Cary is there too and he can say that we never bash Carrie,Taylor,Miranda and the others, you can see in our mediabase thread that we don't even talk about other artists, we say that they are doing better but we never talk bad about them because of this.
