Fallen American Idol soars to new heights

JESSICA SIERRA: Fallen American Idol soars to new heights; life back on right track.

Los Angeles - Once known as the "fallen American Idol," 24 year old Jessica Sierra is a young woman triumphant these days.

With two years of sobriety under her belt, she celebrated the birth of her new baby boy, Kayden Cash, on December 5, 2009, announcing the delivery with an exclusive interview at RadarOnLine.com.

In addition, Jessica is back in the studio, doing what she does best, singing! Under new management with Elite B Management, and working with producer Sebastian Evans II, her new CD will showcase her covering ballads, rock and R&B as only she can!

When America last saw former American Idol star Jessica Sierra in 2008, she had completed an entire season of VH-1's "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew" seemingly to know avail. The former Top Ten Season 4 contestant had shocked and disappointed her fans around the world when she pleaded "no contest" in a courtroom, in her native city of Tampa, FL, to assault and cocaine possession charges just months prior the show's airing.

When less than 2 weeks later after the first courtroom saga, Sierra was arrested again at a Tampa bar, this time for disorderly intoxication, resisting arrest and violating her probation, many wondered, what had gone so horribly wrong. The young songbird had seemingly fallen so far. On January 7, 2008, after spending 39 days in jail without benefit of bond, Sierra was sentenced to time served plus 12 months in rehab at the Pasadena Recovery Center, ironically the same California rehab center where Celebrity Rehab was filmed.

Those were dark days and very dark times for the young songtress. After wooing her fans with her single release, "Unbroken," released on Sony/BMG on a compilation CD titled Four Star Hits, many wondered out loud, was the young Idol hopeful in fact broken beyond repair.

A bundle of talent, former American Idol Jessica Sierra was the hopeful millions were rooting for. Initially engaging audiences with her undeniable voice and range on CBS-TV's "Star Search" at the age of 17, the songbird reemerged years later in full force to finish Top Ten on Season 4 of the television phenomenon "American Idol." Jessica wowed the judges and audience alike on the show, and was deemed one of the best singers in the competition. The Tampa, Florida native had been singing since the age of three. With the success of "American Idol," Jessica was realizing a dream come true.

After "American Idol," Jessica performed all over the world. As an Idol finalist, she toured nationally with fellow contestants, including appearances at the Coca-Cola 600, an extensive Simon Mall concert tour, and the 44 city, sold out American Idol arena tour. The American Idol Showstoppers album features her single "Total Eclipse of the Heart" and has been certified Gold by the RIAA. Who could have imagined that her musical endeavor, the single "Unbroken," would inadvertently become the theme for the rocky path that laid ahead for her. Jessica later released her "Deepest Secrets" EP in 2008.

These days, when not in the studio, Jessica is busy keeping youth from the path she traveled, motivating kids via her work with the Santa Anita Family Services Center in Monrovia, CA. "As a former American Idol I realize that I was a role model to millions of kids who aspire to achieve the success I attained. I was anything but a role model for a long time, but hope that my life lessons will deter someone else from the path of fast living and drug abuse. My voice is a gift and I am overjoyed to be given the opportunity to share it again. Music has always been a grounding and healing force in my life," reveals Jessica. "I hope that it once again inspires others."

Jessica Sierra has proven herself a true "American Idol" of sorts. She embodies the spirit of a courageous winner. She has soared the heights of success and pummeled to the lowest degrees of despair, only to rise again. With her new found sobriety and new baby, Jessica Sierra has a new song in her heart and America can sing along with her once again!
