But it seems to happen that you are only as good as your last hit record. If yourelease a few flops in a row-- you fade away for awhile, like gretchen wilson and leanne womak...sara evans too.

Sara Evans' recent songs are blah and forgettable, but she used to release fun popular songs like Suds in the bucket, etc.

Gretchen was on fire- but due to dud singles off a boring album 3, she faded away. Her new song is pretty good though so hopefully she will release a better album this tiime around.

That is why I personally think it is good to keep pumping out singles, but make sure they are good ones. I don't agree that you need to put out a new album every year though- every 2 years is fine like Carrie has been doing- because kenny and rascal flats, george strait, etc- put out way too many albums in too short a time span, IMO.. You are just getting into one album- when another one comes out.

oddly- they are never called "over-exposed" like the women are. Interesting that the men in country put out albums every year- with singles on the radio at least 10 months of the year, and are never accused of being over-exposed. Also- the men can win the same awards for 20 years (brooks and dunn) or kenny (EOTY, etc)- and no one says they win too much like they do for the ladies. There is a double standard for women I guess.

I do not think that Carrie was or is over exposed. I remember when the great Mohammad Ali was promoted every where, in every corner of the world, even the poorest villages in Africa, Asia, South America, Eastern Europe knew him --and we did not say that Mohammad Ali was over exposed. I know this because I used to travel from one country to another when I was younger .

As far as I know, people who were even close to this fame were Pele (Brazilian Soccer player), Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, and may be David Backham. .

Yes, Carrie Underwood is well known here in the US, but she has not been known around the world yet--therefore, Carrie is not even close to being over exposed. This is just my opinion.
