Since I've been tracking tickets I know this is true. Just look at the sales for the Carrie/Keith tour and the capacities they put on sale and you can see where country usually does worse or better. The Midwest usually sells the best for country music. That's where Carrie did her best numbers. She sold out her Ohio concerts in June immediately too though I don't know if Ohio's considered Midwest or Northeast. :P For some reason a lot of Texas markets go slow for country and pop, that's something I've never understood. I've heard Houston is BRUTAL for sales especially for pop. But Carrie's been doing well in Texas. Louisiana's been a little weak lately too.

I read an article at Pulse that Arizona and Florida were really bad for sales now because they'd been hit so hard by foreclosures though Carrie did well in AZ in May. The Carolinas for reasons I don't understand usually are a little weaker in sales for country, same as Virginia. Atlanta Georgia is the shining light in the Deep South as a GREAT market for country music concerts. The Kentucky/Tennessee/Arkansas markets usually are good for country music. I think the Northwest is usually pretty good too. That's all I remember off the top of my head but where the concert is can make a very big difference in ticket sales.
